From Victor Nwegede, Abakaliki.
The Labour Party (LP) Candidate for Abakaliki/Izzi Federal Constituency, Dr Ezeh Emmanuel Ezeh has assured his supporters of reclaiming his alleged stolen mandate by his rival, Chief Emmanuel Uguru of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC during the February 25 Presidential and National Assembly elections.
Dr Ezeh said in a press release made available to journalists in Abakaliki, the State Capital by his campaign organisation, that he is determined to recover his people's given mandate at the tribunal despite the present setback.
The release issued by Dr Ezeh Emmanuel Ezeh Campaign Organisation read in parts: "Today, our determined steps aimed at recovering our people's given mandate suffered a rude setback at HOR Tribunal sitting in Abuja.
"Right from the onset of the petition, it is clear that the Respondents never wanted the petition to be heard and as such avoided the main issues in the petition. For the records, it is clear from Form EC9 and EC13 that the 1st Respondent didn't tender/have any qualification to run for the House of Representatives election. Again, the actual votes show that we won clearly despite various acts of intimidation, violence, and bias on the part of INEC in favour of the 1st and 2nd Respondents.
"As unfortunate as the strange ruling is, we are determined and not discouraged, disappointed but hopeful. The Tribunal Jurists have spoken, we shall wait for the full details of the ruling and take appropriate steps.
"We want to reassure our numerous supporters that our journey to recovering and rebuilding our nation is not a dash but a marathon. We have started and shall never look back.
"Kindly remain steadfast, prayerful, and above all, positive-minded. IFEGACHI NIGERIA"
