The people of the ancient Ishieke Mgbome kingdom have commended Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for appointing their illustrious son, Chief Matthias Adum as his Principal Secretary (PS).
The Ishieke people who cut across their six autonomous communities including Agalegu, Ishieke, Mbeke, Ndiebor, Ndiegu and Onuenyi also extolled Governor Nwifuru for nominating their loved sons, Professor Awo Nwobasi and Uchenna Igwe a commissioner - designates.
The people made the commendation during the reception ceremony of the newly inaugurated Principal Secretary to the Governor and the member representing Ebonyi North West in the State House of Assembly, Hon Nwodo Aloysius Nwodo at Chief Mathias Adum's residence in Abakaliki, the state Capital City.
Addressing the people, the Executive Chairman of Ebonyi LGA, Barrister Chinedu Uburu described the event as a step towards a greater breakthrough in the political history of the ancient Ishieke kingdom.
Prince Uburu thanked Governor Nwifuru for his unique recognition of the Ishieke people in his government and assured him of unwavering support for his administration.
"Indeed, we Ishieke people are in great joy for the special recognition by His Excellency, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru. He has appointed our brothers into an enviable position and more are still coming by the grace of God, and the gestures, are true indications that the Governor holds the Ishieke people dearly at his heart.
The lawmaker representing Ebonyi North West State Constituency, Barrister Nwodo Aloysius Nwodo congratulated Chief Matthias Adum for his new appointment as the Principal Secretary to the Governor.
He appreciated the Ebonyi North West Constituents (Ishieke people) for giving him overwhelming support which led to his victory in Saturday, March 18 polls.
Barrister Nwodo expressed confidence that the present administration in Ebonyi would make the state citizens proud while assuring effective representation in the House.
On his part, the new Principal Secretary to the State Governor, Chief Adum eulogized his principal, Nwifuru for founding him worthy to work with him in his administration and promised to be effective in his service delivery while in office.
Chief Adum commended the Ishieke people for their solidarity and prayed to God to continue keeping their lives, with the assurance that Governor Nwifuru's led government would surpass past administrations in Ebonyi in terms of delivering dividends of democracy to the state citizens.
He said, "Ebonyi people will rejoice under Governor Nwifuru" and commended the governor's decisions, especially in revitalizing the health and educational sectors.
The Principal Secretary also commended Governor Nwifuru's doggedness in his previous office as the former Speaker of Ebonyi Assembly, saying as a vibrant youth, he had set a standard to build humanity in his present office, where young persons would be key players in governance without fear nor favour.
He urged all and sundry to continue to support the new administration and maintained the current state government will be better than that of yesteryears.
