Ebonyi State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr. Stanley Mbam has charged workers of the Ministry to work as a team to achieve efficient service delivery in their various areas of statutory assignments.
The Commissioner gave this charge during the respective meetings with the Management Staff and Engineers of the Ministry at his office on Thursday. He said that excellence cannot be achieved in isolation stating that segmentation of an institution into departments and units is for easy administration which enhances the test of efficacy through ideas and professional commitments.
Engr. Mbam who said that it is only by collective efforts that the ministry can deliver on government mandate appreciated Ebonyi State Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for appointing him into the mainstream of the state governance as the commissioner for Works and Transport which he described as the pilot for infrastructural development, pointing out that the Governor is very desirous of taking infrastructure and other forms of developments into the hinterland and called on the workers to take their duties seriously.
The brand new commissioner appreciated the past administration of Engr. David Nweze Umahi especially the past commissioners of the Ministry of Works and Transport for their great achievements for the state and promised to do his best to make greater achievements in line with the visions and policy of Governor Ogbonna Nwifuru.
Earlier in his formal handover speech, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mr Monday Nkwuda appreciated Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for his choice of Engr. Stanley Mbam as the commissioner and expressed optimism that he (Engr. Stanley) will pilot affairs of the Ministry with vigour and vitality adding that his appointment as the commissioner for Works and Transport was done out of careful consultation because the governor was determined to bring the positive narrative to the state. He called on the workers to give adequate support to the commissioner through honest dedication to duties.
It shall be noted that the commissioner resumed duty immediately after his inauguration on Tuesday and was taken around the ministry by the Permanent Secretary.
