Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has commended the outgoing Police Commissioner of Ebonyi State for leaving a living legacy in the state before his exit.
The commendation came through the state Deputy Governor, Hon. Princess Patricia Obila, who represented the Governor at the retirement thanksgiving ceremony of the immediate past Police Commissioner of Ebonyi state, CP Faleye Olaleye, and the dedication of All Saints Protestant Chaplaincy built by the outgoing Police Commissioner in the central police barracks Abakaliki.
The deputy governor opined that CP Faleye has simply obeyed God's command to build for Him, she charged the people of God who are privileged to always think of building for God as it is an act of obedience unto the Lord.
She congratulated the CP for retiring strong and without blemish, which is the hallmark of every service.
In homily, the Force Protestant Chaplain, Force HQ Abuja, CSP Ven. Joshua Omoyele, enjoined leaders to use their positions to enhance the life of the citizens than using them to emerge wealth, he called on all and sundry to invest in the house of God, Which the retiring CP has exemplified.
Earlier, The Anglican Bishop of Abakaliki Diocese, Rt. Rev. Monday Nkwegu, during the dedication of the chaplaincy, thanked God for giving the retiring CP the vision to build for Him, for that is the whole duty of man, as the Bible recommends. He prayed to god to work in CP's vineyard since he has worked in God's vineyard.
In his vote of thanks, the outgoing CP, recounted his journey to Ebonyi in his career, having been posted to Afikpo as an area commander in 2013, and later returned to Ebonyi as an Assistant CP in 2015 and finally Commissioner of Police in 2023.
He thanked Ebonyi people for accommodating him joyfully, adding that retiring in Ebonyi has raised his shoulders very high.
