Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, Chief Francis Nwifuru has presented a cheque of 15 million Naira to a kidney Patient, Mr Ifeanyi Israel Ugo to undertake a transplant of his ailing kidney.
The cheque given to the Kidney patient by the governor to clear his hospital bill, according to a release issued by the Special Assistant to State Governor on Documentation, Dr Boniface Nwankwo was Nwifuru's chain of his humanitarian and welfare dispositions to governance which is also in line with his People's Charter of Needs manifesto.
The governor who presented the cheque to the patient and his family members through his Chief of Staff, Professor Emmanuel Echiegu, and flanked by the Principal Secretary to the Governor, Chief Mathias Adum said he responded swiftly to the distress call to save the life of the patient.
He prayed to God to grant the patient a successful operation and quick recovery thereafter. The patient, Mr. Ifeanyi Israel Ugo thanked the Governor for coming to his rescue and prayed to God to continue blessing him.
The kidney Patient, Mr Ifeanyi Israel Ugo hails from Enyim Umuoghara in Ezza North Local Government Area of the State.
Recall that Governor Nwifuru has recently issued a cheque of fifteen (15) million Naira to one Mr Bathlomew Aja of Ivo Local Government Area to carry out a kidney transplant on his ailing daughter, Chidera.
The Special Assistant to State Governor on Documentation, Dr Boniface Nwankwo also made this known in a statement and noted that the offsetting of the medical bills by his principal was in fulfilment of his People's Charter of Needs blueprint.
The cheque was presented to Mr Aja in his Office, Ochoudo Centenary City, Abakaliki by Governor Nwifuru through the Chief of Staff, Professor Emmanuel Echiegu. Nwifuru equally noted that the prompt release of the amount of money requested by Mr Aja was to avoid complications in the health condition of the child, praying to God to grant Miss Chidera a successful transplant and a quick recovery thereafter.
Responding, the father of the sick child, Mr. Bathlomew Aja thanked Governor Nwifuru for the gesture and prayed to God to continue to guide him in his administration.
It will be recalled that the sick child, Miss Chidera Aja is a student of Mass Communication at Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki.
