President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the weekend, appointed the Ebonyi State former governor, David Umahi's Commissioner on Trade and Investment, Chioma Nweze as the Special Assistant, SSA, on community development for the southeast region.
It was gathered that the appointment of Nweze, who is a loyalist to the minister of works, David Umahi, came after three weeks, that the minister was inaugurated by President Tinubu's led administration in the country.
Recall that there have been alleged agitations by political leaders of the southeast geopolitical zone over alleged marginalization in the appointment of ministers, wherein, the south-east, was given only five slots, while other regions produced eight to ten ministers.
Investigation revealed, that Nweze was appointed to allegedly douse tension, show further inclusion of the southeast region into President Tinubu's led administration, and engage the communities of the five eastern states in meaningful development.
Nweze was appointed alongside other fifteen Senior Special Assistants, SSAs, to represent; North Central, South West, South South, North East and North West on community Engagement.
The Senior Special Assistant, SSA, to the President of community development, Nweze, in a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Abakaliki, vowed to ensure that there is total unity and peace in Igbo land.
She, however, applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, works minister, Umahi for the decision to carve out a Community Development, to ensure the total development of the south-east region.
"I pay tribute to Mr President's ingenious decision to carve out a Community Development lifeline for the South East which has spelt a tale of reassurance to Ndigbo worldwide as to their inclusiveness in the current political equation.
"I assure you, our leaders, that I shall consult widely on how best to proceed with our common agenda of reform and revitalisation for Ndigbo and South East. My team and I will continue to lean on and count on the wisdom of present and past Igbo elites. We will listen attentively to your concerns, expectations and admonitions.
Nweze further revealed her preparedness to carry the leaders of the southeast region along, "I assure you, our leaders, that I shall consult widely on how best to proceed with our common agenda of reform and revitalisation for Ndigbo and South East.
"My team and I will continue to lean on and count on the wisdom of present and past Igbo elites. We will listen attentively to your concerns, expectations and admonitions. We come as your servants; you, our masters and we would at all times listen to and heed your advice" she stressed.
