The remains of Chief Felix Mgbada, foremost Ebonyi Founding Father have been laid to rest in his country home, Okposhi, Unwuogharu community in Ezza North Local Government Area of Ebonyi.
Mgbada, A former Chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Abakaliki branch and Stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was born on November 25, 1950.
Speaking at the event, Governor Francis Nwifuru, represented by Rt. Hon Moses Odunwa, Speaker, of Ebonyi State House of Assembly urged the family to sustain the legacies of the late Mgbada.
'You have to emulate him on his good works and legacies as we pray that his soul rests in peace,'
Mr Chigozie Nwankwo, current Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Abakaliki branch Chairman described the late Mgbada as a bridge builder who impacted immensely on the judicial system of the state and country.
''We are here today to mourn with the family. The message to them is to take heart and pray to God to accept his soul in heaven,''
Mr Augustine Nwankwagu, Former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, said that the late Mgbada was a ''man of many parts'' especially in the area of judiciary.
''We have gathered to mourn him because he was a good man. When he was the NBA chairman, I was his secretary and worked very closely like a family.
"I encourage the family to continue to pray and sustain his legacies,"
Also speaking, Mr Chukwuka Odom, NBA Chairman of the Onueke branch in the state said Mgbada led the bar to the promised land during his days and urged the family to keep the flag he raised, flying.
Hon. Okechukwu Mgbada, the deceased's first son thanked all those who attended the burial, noting that the family was strengthened by their presence.
"The array of personalities here attest to our father's greatness while alive and we would sustain the legacies he left behind,".
Some dignitaries at the burial are the Former Executive Governor of the state, Chief Martin Elechi, and Dr Kelechi Igwe, Former Deputy Governor of the state among others.
A valedictory court session and service of songs among other colourful events preceded the burial of the great Ebonyi icon.
