The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha has recommended farming as the promising accessible normal that would drastically reduce economic hardship confronting Nigerians in their country.
Emegha said this while addressing pressmen at his 54th birthday anniversary, the occasion, he used to celebrate with the orphans, physically challenged and other less privileged people in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital.
The APC State boss advised Nigerians to return to crop and livestock farming, stressing that if individual families turn their backyards into a vegetable garden and poultry farm would reduce the increase in demands to meet household needs.
He underscored that the country's current challenge would be surmounted with the collective contributions of all Nigerians irrespective of their classes.
"Things are hard in the country, but the much we can do is to be bold and pull our ideas together to overcome the challenges.
"I want everybody to embrace agriculture; let's feed first, these are things we can do by ourselves and I have told my family that all of us have to go into food cultivation.
"If you have food, I don't think you will count yourself among the people that are lacking. Let's embark fully into agricultural activities and reduce our engagement in English things," Emegha said.
Responding to the call for the resignation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP due to the rising hardship across the nation, the APC State Chairman said that hunger has no party, it faces more badly.
He further challenged Nigerians to return to crop and livestock farming in their various areas.
"We should go back home and think about what we can produce by ourselves as Mr President will not do everything by himself and this is not all about the party ruling the country. We can solve our problem because if there's food sufficiency now, many people will not boycott Abuja.
"For instance, if you go to Aba now and tell them that you are an honourable member, people will look at you as a fool and that should be complimented in other states and areas with farming," Emegha asserted.
