The member representing Abakaliki North Constituency in Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Hon Victor Chidi Nwoke has urged his constituents to be active in promoting genuine love in any place they found themselves on Valentine Day.
Nwoke stated this in his Valentine's message to his constituents on Wednesday which the Catholic Church observed 2024 Ash Wednesday, marking the beginning of Lent season for this year.
The Ebonyi Lawmaker noted that Valentine Day is celebrated worldwide as the day of love and care during which people exchange gifts and spend time with loved ones.
He said: "It is my pleasure to felicitate all my constituents on the occasion of the celebration of Valentine’s Day.
"I therefore commend these virtues to you on this occasion, now and always. Let whatever we think, say or do at all times be epitomised by the virtues exemplified by the legendary Saint Valentine.
"As you celebrate, I urge you to imbibe and show genuine love to one another, as exemplified by St. Valentine who paid the maximum price for love.
"I urge all of you, especially the youths to shun immorality and acts that are capable of bringing reproach to your families and future as the true essence of the day is for people to deeply reflect on the real meaning of love.
"I wish all my dear constituents and Christians all over the world a happy Valentine's celebration and enjoin all of you to be committed to maintaining your unwavering enthusiasm in your support of my administration for the betterment of our constituency, while I assure you of my continuous quality, effective and efficient representations. Once again, Happy Valentine to you all."
