TRIBUTE
Losing adored and incredible memories is like missing Heaven. But when it comes to the end, we know that Heaven is a home all races will forever cherish.
Indeed, it was like a dream on 28th January 2024 when our beloved mother, Chief Mrs Maria Uchaji Nwebonyi passed on to the cold hands of the ancestors.
Before her death, we recalled very vividly that she had a minor surgical operation at Holy Trinity Hospital along Nkaleke Road in Abakaliki Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. Upon her discharge from the hospital, our dear mother was relocated to our residential house in Abakaliki town, where one of her illustrious daughters, a Professional Nurse, Mrs Janet Ambrose Ofoke continued to take care of her.
The complex nature of her health condition at our residential compound resulted in our urgent call to the second to our elder brothers, Hon Chief Chris Uchaji and one of our younger brothers, Hon Chamberlain Uchaji who responded immediately with their wives and took her to Alex Ekweme Federal University Teaching Hospital Abakalki (AE-FUTHA2).
In the hospital, all efforts made by the medical personnel to restore her normal health proved abortive, as she succumbed to the supreme call, leaving us to become motherless children at this moment we deserve her presence most.
Even as the world withers rapidly, retiring the famous and reputable Kings and Queens alongside the Princes and princesses, the great memories of our dear mother can't be easily undermined.
Beloved Mom, your usual and memorable questions to me and my dear wife (your beloved daughter) before your death, "How will I do your own thing and what will I use to reciprocate to your humility and consolations since you become husband and wife?" has become most a challenging and unanswered questions since you left us.
We will forever cherish your strong statements and personalities especially your great legacies of hospitality, generosity and appreciation for every good gesture. You were a precious gift from God - very beautiful, wise and patient personified. You touched our lives in so many ways positively. Your ever-cherished smiling and resilient manners were sources of motivation and prosperity during your lifetime.
Mom, we will deeply miss you, as you have finally left us to stay with your Maker. May your gentle soul rest in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ Amen.
