Prince Victor Chibuoyi Nwenyi is one of the many male children of the Renowned First Class Traditional Ruler of Igbeagu Community in Izzi Local Government Area, HRH Eze John Nwenyi. John Nwenyi is a one-time member of the National Assembly Service Commission who represented the South East Zone in the National Assembly.
Before he was appointed a commissioner to represent the people of South East he was a strong Traditional Ruler whose voice was heard both at the State and National levels. He showed capacity in piloting the affairs of the neighbouring community of Igbeagu in Ebonyi and the Ukelu Community of Cross River States.
One may not be surprised by the success story of Victor Nwenyi considering his background as one whose father is a Traditional Ruler in a border Community of Cross River and Ebonyi States and a nephew to Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Kelvin Opoke. Rtd. The young security expert may not count his success in the state sub-security sector without counting his background in all shades of human endeavours.
The young Chibuoyi started his Educational career at Echindu primary school Ndubia Igbeagu in Izzi LGA where he bagged distinction and subsequently enrolled into Community secondary school Igbeagu and obtained his Senior Secondary school Certificate (SSCE). Chibuoyi proceeded to the prestigious Ebonyi State University to study History and International Relations and graduated in 2013
Upon graduation, the young entrepreneur and security expert achieved his dream in life quickly by joining a Geo Mining and borehole Drilling company Jep Japh Nigeria Ltd where he displayed extraordinary knowledge notwithstanding that he never read Geology or related profession
.Chibuoyi started his security job in 2013 as a former security adviser to the former president of the National Youth Council of Nigeria NYCN Mr peters, and subsequently served as the Deputy Commander of Neighborhood Watch Izzi Local Government Area before his elevation as the state commander.
Victor assumed the position of the Ebonyi state Commander on the expiration of Governor David Umahi's administration. Testimonies had it that Victor Chibuoyi Nwenyi has brought a resounding reform in the state sub-security sector.
Similarly, Chibuoyi had started handling positions of authority in his early life. Those positions include Former Speaker Izzi LGA Youths Parliament, Current President Igbeagu Grade 12 concerned President of Igbeagu, Chairman Board of Trustees FON Youth movement and many other positions.
Sources close to the Commander attest that his prowess in handling security issues made him outstanding and the reason the high rate of criminality drastically reduced in the state. They argued that since Governor Francis Nwifuru's assumption of office as the state Governor, no government social facilities have been vandalized, courtesy of the state Commander.
Rapport with sister security agencies: Before now, heads of state internal security often disagreed with the Federal security agencies such as the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and National Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), but Victor never allowed such stale relationships to exist with the above-mentioned agencies in the state. Little wonder, he transfers suspects to police immediately after arrest.
However, Victor's advice to his Boss, the Governor of Ebonyi State Chief Ogbonna Nwifuru, has further fostered healthy relationships with the other security outfits in the state. Notwithstanding his assumption of office on the 29th of June,2023, he procured over 25 Hilux vans with the inscription Ijeoma and shared them with the Police and Nigeria Army.
In several fora, Victor Nwenyi has always dedicated his success to Governor Francis Nwifuru, who brought him into the limelight. He added that whatever name he has made is dedicated to the Governor, who does not hesitate to provide an enabling environment for him to thrive.
According to him, on one of the Occasions he attended, "I am always not comfortable when people are saying I'm the one making a name for myself when my mentor, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has always gone out of his way to ensure Ebonyians go to bed with two eyes closed. I want to say that whatever success my office has recorded is the Governor that made it a reality"
In the Area of Charity, Chibuoyi has also displayed uncommon philosophic gestures. At the last count, Chibuoyi has paid the hospital bills of over fifty persons; funny enough, Chibuoyi has never cared to ask about the identity of the beneficiaries of his magnanimous gestures. The young philanthropist does not sleep well if a day passes without touching lives positively.
He has assisted over fifty youths in learning trades and crafts. Currently, he has assisted thirty-five indigent students to sit for the Oral Examination Council (NECO), West African Examination Council (WAEC) and JAMB.
In less than one year and three months in office Chibuoyi has received so many accolades, awards of excellent and chieftaincy titles, among whom are the Award of Excellent Services from Man of Order and Discipline MOD Nigeria and Rotary cClubDistrict 109 Nigeria
