Ebonyi State Agency for the Control of AIDS, EBOSACA, has called all and sundry to join hands in the campaign for the Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome, AIDS-Free Generation in the society.
The Executive Secretary of EBOSACA, Prince Chibueze Andrew Iteshi made the call yesterday in Abakaliki, ahead of the 2024 World AIDS Day.
Iteshi said the campaign becomes very important this time, as he called for joint action to end the Human Immunodeficiency Virus, HIV epidemic by educating the present generation.
He said the 2024 World AIDS Day would be centred on "Reflections, Progress and the Unending Fight against HIV/AIDS," and people, especially children are expected to show solidarity around the victims globally.
His words: "December 1st 2024, marks the 37th annual World AIDS DAY, a global commemoration to raise awareness and reaffirm commitments to ending the AIDS epidemic.
"World AIDS Day is a day of solidarity for people, especially children around the world who are affected by HIV, and for voices to unite by sharing experiences, remembering those lost and standing together in the fight against HIV.
"Ebonyi State is not left out as we join people of goodwill all over the world to mark this all-important day in world history.
"Let's say no to stigmatization! Let's say no discrimination!! Let's end the HIV epidemic by educating our generation!!!
"Let's join hands on the campaign for an AIDS-Free Generation."
