The decision was announced on Thursday during a Senate plenary session, where the committee chairman, Senator Neda Imasuen, presented the panel’s findings.
He stated that Senator Natasha was found guilty of all the allegations against her, primarily because she refused to appear before the committee for a review of her conduct.
The Senate is currently debating the committee’s report, with lawmakers expressing different opinions on whether the suspension should be enforced or modified. Some senators support the panel’s recommendation, arguing that discipline must be maintained within the legislative body. Others believe the issue should be reconsidered to ensure fairness in the process.
Senator Natasha’s case follows a heated disagreement with Senate President Godswill Akpabio over seating arrangements in the chamber.
The matter escalated days later when she accused Senate President Akpabio of sexual harassment.
