The Executive Chairman of Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Chief Mrs Ifeoma Peace Agwu, kicked off a free medical outreach program yesterday designed to serve over 2,000 residents of the Ishielu communities.
The event, held in Ezilo, marked a significant step towards enhancing healthcare accessibility among local residents.
During the flag-off ceremony, Mrs Agwu articulated her commitment to providing quality health services, stating that the initiative aims to address the pressing health needs of her constituents.
“It is my goal to ensure that our people have access to quality health care,” she remarked, emphasizing that the medical outreach will become an annual event to sustainably cater to the health requirements of Ishielu residents.
The outreach, which included various health services aimed at improving overall community well-being, was a part of Mrs Agwu's broader strategy to enhance health insurance coverage in the region.
In a related development, the National Association of Community Health Practitioners, Ebonyi State Chapter, led by Mrs. Chittachi Jerry Uslor, presented a prestigious award to Mrs. Agwu, recognizing her as a "Pillar of Community Health in Ebonyi State."
This accolade reflected her diligent efforts and dedication to addressing health challenges faced by the residents of Ishielu.
Mr Kabir Yahaya Ahmed, the National President of Community Health Practitioners, praised Mrs Agwu for her exemplary contributions, stating, “This award is in recognition of her unwavering commitment to tackling health issues in her local government area.”
