In a deeply emotional moment that touched many hearts, Chief Mrs. Chinyere Nwogbaga, member representing Ebonyi North East Constituency in the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, joined family, friends, and well-wishers in paying her final respects to her devoted supporter, the late Mr. Paul Ogbaga, who was laid to rest in his hometown of Abofia Village, Ebonyi Local Government Area.
Mr. Ogbaga, aged 40, tragically passed away on March 15, 2025, after collapsing at his cassava processing factory. His sudden death sent waves of grief through the community he selflessly served as a member of the Ebonyi State Neighborhood Watch. Known for his unwavering dedication to the safety and wellbeing of his people, Paul was more than a security personnel - he was a symbol of trust and quiet sacrifice.
Nwogbaga according to a statement issued by her Special Assistant, Uchenna Orogbo while addressing the grieving family and mourners, could hardly hold back tears as she spoke of Paul’s loyalty, humility, and commitment.
"He was not just a supporter—he was a brother in the cause of building a safer, stronger Ebonyi. His absence leaves a void that words cannot fill," she said.
Moved by the pain of the loss and driven by a desire to uphold Paul’s legacy, Nwogbaga announced a full educational scholarship for his first son, Master Goodluck Ogbaga. The scholarship, she said, would cover his schooling from primary education all the way to university, a gesture meant to secure a brighter future for the child and ease the burden on the bereaved family.
“This is not just about honoring Paul, it’s about ensuring that his son grows up knowing that his father’s life and service mattered—and that he is not alone," she added.
Nwogbaga, the immediate past Executive Chairman of Ebonyi LGA, further promised to stand by the family in their journey through grief, pledging continued support and presence in their lives.
"As the sun set over Abofia Village, one thing was clear: though Paul Ogbaga’s life was cut short, his impact—and the kindness he inspired—will live on. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Amen," the female lawmaker also hinted.
