The Ebonyi State Government has expressed satisfaction over the state's outstanding performance in the 2024 National Examination Council (NECO) results, where it emerged among the top three states nationwide.
According to a performance analysis published by data organization Statisense, Ebonyi ranked alongside Abia and Imo States, with 80.55% of its students scoring five credits and above, including in English and Mathematics.
The Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Engr. Jude Chikadibia Okpor, described the development as a clear testament to the sound educational policies of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s administration.
He noted that the achievement reflects the governor's consistent investment in the education sector.
While commending students, teachers, and other stakeholders for their roles in the success, the commissioner called on residents to continue supporting the governor.
He added that the performance is only an indication of greater achievements to come as the administration approaches its two-year anniversary.
“This academic feat is a reliable pointer to the fact that Ebonyi people were right in their decision and choice of His Excellency,” Okpor stated.
