Hon. Egbe Stephen Chinoso, a former House of Assembly Aspirant and current Special Assistant to the Ishielu Local Government chairman on Youth Mobilization has lauded Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and Ishielu Local Government Chairman, Hon. Mrs Ifeoma Peace Agwu, for their pivotal roles in launching the Polio vaccine immunization campaign in Ishielu Local Government Area.
The commendation came during a ceremony marking the official flag-off of the immunization drive, attended by the Ebonyi State Governor’s representative, Deputy Governor Princess Patricia Onyemaechi Obila.
Hon. Egbe expressed his appreciation for the administration’s commitment to safeguarding the health of residents in Ebonyi State since Governor Nwifuru took office.
In his statement, Egbe emphasized the importance of health initiatives, particularly in combating polio, which poses a significant risk to children.
"I commend both Governor Nwifuru and Ishielu Local Government chairman, Mrs Agwu Agwu for prioritizing the health of our communities. Their efforts will undoubtedly contribute to a healthier future for our children," he said.
The former Assembly Aspirant further highlighted the indispensable role of the local government in addressing health challenges within the community.
He urged residents of Ishielu to actively participate in the campaign, stressing the necessity of ensuring that all children are vaccinated against polio.
“In unity, we can overcome the challenges posed by preventable diseases. I call on all parents and guardians in Ishielu to collaborate with our Local Government chairman and ensure that every child receives their vaccination, safeguarding their health and future,” he stated.
He said the Polio vaccine immunization initiative aims to provide essential health services and enhance community awareness about the importance of immunizations in Ishielu and Ebonyi at large.
