A former aspirant for the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Hon. Stephen Chinonso Egbe, has commended the Honourable Commissioner for Works, Engr. Stanley Lebechi Mbam, for what he described as an extraordinary act of empowerment and public service. This follows the disbursement of over ₦26 million to 25 residents of Ebonyi State.
Egbe, who currently serves as the Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman of Ishielu Local Government Area on Youth Mobilization, conveyed his commendation in a congratulatory message marking Commissioner Mbam’s two-year anniversary in office.
According to Egbe, in celebration of his anniversary, the Commissioner empowered 23 individuals with ₦1 million each, one person with ₦1.5 million, and another beneficiary with ₦2 million—amounting to a total disbursement of ₦26 million. He described the gesture as an act of “rare generosity” and a clear reflection of Mbam’s “deep compassion and commitment to grassroots development.”
“This milestone is not just about time spent in office; it is a testament to the Honourable Commissioner’s professionalism, leadership, and unwavering dedication to improving lives. At a time when many Nigerians face severe economic challenges, Engr. Mbam has chosen to lead with kindness and decisive action,” Egbe stated.
He further praised the Commissioner for his remarkable contributions to infrastructure development across Ebonyi State, particularly in pioneering durable road networks and executing quality civil engineering projects. Egbe emphasized that Mbam’s efforts have had a transformative impact on communities by enhancing connectivity and access in both urban and rural areas.
“You have proven to be a beacon of hope to the vulnerable and a champion of grassroots empowerment,” he added.
Egbe also acknowledged the strategic foresight of the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Builder Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for appointing Engr. Mbam to lead the Ministry of Works. He described the Commissioner as “visionary and result-driven,” and expressed confidence that Ebonyi State will gain national recognition for its infrastructure advancements under Mbam’s stewardship.
“As Engr. Mbam continues to oversee major projects across the state, his second anniversary is being marked not only with accolades but with tangible impact—especially among the empowered beneficiaries who now have financial support to pursue their ventures,” Egbe noted.
He further described the development as a model of people-centered leadership and a testament to the positive outcomes that emerge when public office is guided by compassion and competence. Egbe concluded by urging other commissioners in Ebonyi State to emulate Engr. Mbam’s exemplary service.
It is worth noting that Egbe also works closely with the Commissioner, whom he described as “digital, proactive, and high-performing.”
