Commercial flight operations are set to begin at the Chuba Okadigbo International Airport in Onueke, Ezza South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, on June 13, 2025.
This follows a new partnership between the Ebonyi State Government and United Nigeria Airline, aimed at boosting air travel and enhancing connectivity in the region.
The Commissioner for Aviation and Transport Technology, Mrs. Ngozi Obichukwu, announced the development in a statement issued to journalists in Abakaliki.
“Flight operations will commence by United Nigeria Airlines on June 13, 2025, from Lagos and Abuja to the Chuba Okadigbo International Airport, Onueke,” the statement read.
Initial flight services will begin with routes from Abuja to Onueke and back on June 13. Services on the Lagos-Onueke route are scheduled to start on June 18. Afterward, flights will operate on a regular schedule every Monday and Friday.
Mrs. Obichukwu noted that online booking is not yet available, as the ministry is currently undergoing regulatory procedures required for online platforms. In the interim, payments will be made directly to the state government’s account.
The cost of a one-way ticket is set at ₦100,000. Payments are to be made into the Ebonyi State Government’s account with the following details:

The commissioner added that flight operations and airport activities are being closely monitored by relevant aviation regulatory bodies to ensure safety and compliance.
