A respected elder statesman and immediate past State Immunization Officer (SIO) in the Ebonyi State Ministry of Health, Mr. Christopher Ajiegbe Nwodom, popularly known as “Master,” on Sunday, June 22, marked his 58th birthday with a heart full of gratitude and prayers for the less privileged.
Speaking to journalists in Abakaliki, Mr. Nwodom expressed profound thanks to God for the gift of life, noting that reaching the age of 58 is a significant milestone many have not been privileged to attain.
“I’m so happy and grateful to God for adding another year to my life,” he said. “There are a lot of people who couldn't get to my age. The journey has not been easy, but God has kept me.”
Nwodom, a native of Ekelegu village in the Ndiebor Ishieke Community of Ebonyi Local Government Area, described June 22 as a “remarkable” date in his life, saying he was overwhelmed by the love and goodwill messages from friends and well-wishers.
He also used the occasion to offer prayers for the sick, orphans, and the less privileged in society.
“We use this auspicious time to remember those in the hospital and pray for quick recovery for them. I also use this day to always remember the orphans and pray to God to continually guide, keep them, and provide for them,” he said.
The brief but emotional interaction highlighted Nwodom’s continued commitment to community service and compassion for the vulnerable, even after his tenure in public health leadership.
