The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will on Tuesday, June 17, officially begin its campaign for the July 12 Local Government Elections.
The campaign will commence with the presentation of candidates and the symbolic handover of party flags at the Lagos APC State Secretariat in Ogba.
According to the party, the campaign has been decentralized along the three senatorial districts — Lagos East, Central, and West — with Lagos West divided into two zones due to its size.
The flag-off ceremony is expected to be attended by party leaders, elected officials, and appointees across the three tiers of government.
The party has also directed its local leadership to constitute Local Organizing Committees (LOCs) to drive grassroots mobilization and ensure effective outreach across all parts of the state.
Chairmanship, vice chairmanship, and councillorship candidates had earlier emerged through party primaries held in the 20 Local Government Areas, 37 Local Council Development Areas, and 377 wards.
The campaign will focus on the achievements of the outgoing local administrations, recent social intervention programs, and the party’s commitment to continue delivering on its progressive agenda.
The APC urged all eligible voters to participate actively in the elections to strengthen democratic governance. Campaign activities will end on July 11 in compliance with electoral regulations.
