In a powerful fusion of literature, politics, and civic pride, Dr Ezeh Emmanuel Ezeh, an Oxford-trained entrepreneur and 2023 House of Representatives candidate for Abakaliki/Izzi Federal Constituency, has thrown his weight behind the celebration of Ebonyi-born literary star, Obinna Udenwe, by sponsoring a free giveaway of Udenwe’s latest novel, Years of Shame.
Dr Ezeh, a respected voice in the Obidient Movement and a staunch supporter of Mr. Peter Obi’s vision for a better Nigeria, made the announcement through his social media platform, calling on young Nigerians to embrace storytelling as a tool for truth, resistance, and national transformation.
“Obinna Udenwe has risen above the madding crowd. Through Years of Shame, he speaks our collective truth. As OBIdients, it is our duty to celebrate and amplify voices like his," Ezeh declared.
To actualize this vision, Dr. Ezeh has procured free copies of the book, which will be distributed in batches of 25 on a first-call, first-served basis. Interested readers are encouraged to contact Mr. Louis Nwebonyi, Dr. Ezeh’s Media Director during the 2023 campaign, to receive their copies.
According to him, the initiative, powered by the Obidient Movement, Ebonyi State Chapter, is aimed at promoting literature that challenges the status quo and sparks public reflection.
Ezeh’s gesture is being widely applauded as both a cultural endorsement and a strategic effort to uplift Nigerian intellectuals.
His commitment to youth empowerment, education, and value-driven politics has earned him admiration across the state and beyond.
Obinna Udenwe’s Years of Shame is already being commended as a courageous work of fiction that captures the tensions, tragedies, and triumphs of contemporary Nigeria.
By backing the book, Dr Ezeh reinforces the Movement’s belief that nation-building begins with truth-telling.
“Let’s share the story. Let’s own our truth. Let’s uplift Nigerian literature,” he hinted.
