Senator Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi, representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District and serving as the Deputy Chief Whip of the Nigerian Senate, has marked two years in office with the implementation of several constituency projects and empowerment initiatives.
According to a statement issued by his Senior Special Adviser and Legislative Aide, Hon. Chamberlain Uchaji, the Senator has distributed 30 minibuses and pickup trucks, 20 Toyota Corolla cars, 50 tricycles, and 1,000 motorcycles to constituents across the district.
He has also provided farm inputs to hundreds of farmers, food palliatives to vulnerable households, and startup capital to small business owners.
The Senator’s office also reported the construction of 16 kilometers of concrete roads across the four local government areas of the district. Seven kilometers have been completed, with the remaining distance at various stages of construction.
Two major bridges—Oroke Onuha and Otorobvi, both located in Mbeke Ishieke—are under construction.
Other completed or ongoing projects include the drilling of 100 boreholes, construction of 100 bungalows for indigent residents, and the building of an ultramodern civic center.
Scholarship funds have also been disbursed to thousands of students from the senatorial district.
Hon. Uchaji stated that the projects reflect Senator Nwebonyi’s commitment to improving infrastructure, supporting livelihoods, and expanding access to education in Ebonyi North.
Senator Nwebonyi was elected to the Senate in 2023.
