Minister of the FCT, Chief Nyesom Wike, has confirmed a reconciliation meeting with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara in Abuja on May 12, 2025.
The meeting, initiated by President Bola Tinubu and attended by two APC governors, aimed to resolve the ongoing political crisis between the two leaders.
However, Wike indicated in a June 2 interview that there has been no follow-up from Fubara since the initial meeting, raising concerns about the Governor's sincerity.
Dismissing rumors, Wike denied that Fubara knelt before him during the meeting, though he acknowledged that Fubara waited to be invited in.
Sources claim the meeting was initially planned for a neutral venue, but Wike insisted it be held at his residence. Supporters of Wike are also accused of spreading misleading narratives to undermine Fubara.
