The Coordinator of Amachi Development Centre, Hon. Mrs. Victoria Ifeoma Mbam, has restated her resolve to fully implement Governor Francis Nwifuru’s People’s Charter of Needs at the grassroots level, pledging sustained delivery of impactful projects for the wellbeing of her people.
She made this known on Monday while leading members of her management team on an inspection of ongoing and completed projects across several villages in Amachi, Abakaliki Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
Top among the projects is the completion of a 7500mm x 3000 x 2500mm span bridge at Ndiugbala Amachi village, a previously impassable route during the rainy season. Hon. Mbam expressed satisfaction over the quality and timeliness of the work, describing it as a major relief for rural dwellers.
She also visited over six functional boreholes recently drilled in strategic locations including Ogbuchia Amachi, Azuegu Egwudinagu, Nwanwu Market Square, Azuda Offioku, Okaria, and Onyikwa, aimed at addressing long-standing water scarcity issues in the area.
In the health sector, the Coordinator disclosed plans to establish an ultra-modern health centre at Nwanwu, Egwudinagu Amachi, to improve healthcare access for residents of the development centre.
Other achievements under her administration include the grading and lateriting of key community roads such as Ndegu Amachi Road, Ochobuokum Road, Ndiofutu Road, and Ndiudara Road.
Beyond infrastructure, Hon. Mbam highlighted her social support initiatives, which include financial assistance to the less privileged, women and youth empowerment programs, and bursary awards to over 400 undergraduate students from Amachi to support their education.
She urged the people of Amachi to remain peaceful and supportive of Governor Nwifuru’s administration to continue enjoying the dividends of democracy.
Commending her efforts, a member of the centre's management committee, Hon. Elebara Emmanuel, praised her leadership, noting that her developmental strides within two years in office have brought renewed hope to the people. He assured her of his full support in moving the centre forward.
Mrs. Mbam reiterated that her administration remains committed to meeting the real needs of the people, saying:
“We will not rest until every village in Amachi feels the impact of government. The People’s Charter of Needs is our guide, and we are determined to bring it to life.”
