The Obidient Movement in Ebonyi State has firmly reiterated its unwavering commitment to the Labour Party (LP), debunking what it described as “false and misleading” reports suggesting a hijack of its coalition structure by external forces.
In a joint press release signed by Comrade Splendour Oko Eze, the 2023 LP gubernatorial candidate in Ebonyi State, and Dr. Ezeh Emmanuel Ezeh, LP National Assembly candidate, the movement accused elements of the "fractured and fragmented" Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of orchestrating the disinformation campaign.
“The Obidient family in Ebonyi remains united, focused, and deeply rooted within the Labour Party,” the statement read.
“The recent noise by political mercenaries is merely a distraction aimed at causing confusion among our supporters. We urge the public to disregard them," it added.
Both leaders emphasized that the core supporters of Peter Obi, the LP’s presidential flagbearer in the 2023 elections, are “well-known and unshaken” in their commitment to the party’s values and direction.
The statement came amid renewed political maneuverings ahead of future elections, as parties jostle to strengthen grassroots influence in the South-East.
The Obidient Movement assured its followers of continued transparency and fidelity to its founding principles, both in the state and beyond.
