The Federal Government has announced a fresh increment in the cost of international passports, with new rates taking effect for applications made within Nigeria.
The announcement, made on Thursday, August 28, 2025, revealed that the increase affects both the five-year and ten-year validity passports, as well as the 32-page and 64-page booklets.
Under the new rates, a 32-page passport with a five-year validity will now cost N100,000, while a 64-page passport with a ten-year validity will go for N200,000.
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) clarified that the adjustment applies only to applicants within the country.
Nigerians in the diaspora are not affected, as their passport fees remain at $150 for the 32-page, five-year validity and $230 for the 64-page, ten-year validity.
This latest increment comes less than a year after the last review in September 2024, when the 32-page passport fee rose from N35,000 to N50,000, and the 64-page ten-year validity passport increased from N70,000 to N100,000.
The change also coincides with ongoing reforms within the Immigration Service under the supervision of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
