The Head, Sexual Assault and Gender-Based Violence Response Department of the Ebonyi State Ministry of Justice, Barr. Faithvin Nwanchor, has commended Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for transforming Ebonyi into an emerging investment hub in the South-East through his people-oriented policies and landmark projects.
Speaking in Abakaliki after the just-concluded 3rd Retreat of the Committee on the Review of Nigeria’s Laws, Barr. Nwanchor said the Governor’s infrastructural drive, commitment to Public Private Partnerships, and hosting of both national and international events have repositioned Ebonyi as a destination for investors and tourists.
She noted that the success of the legal retreat, which attracted the Attorney General of the Federation, top federal officials, and international stakeholders, was a testament to the enabling environment created by the Nwifuru administration.
“Ebonyi State provided the financial backing, hospitality, and infrastructural support that made the event seamless. From the airport reception to accommodation in some of the State’s best hotels and the gala night at the Ecumenical Centre, visitors kept expressing surprise at the beauty of Ebonyi and the quality of facilities available,” Nwanchor stated.
According to her, the retreat did not only advance discussions on law reform and codification of Nigeria’s extant laws through the State’s partnership with LexisNexis but also showcased Ebonyi’s growing status as a hub for law tourism and investment.
She added: “I think with the way the Governor is going, he is opening up the State to become an investment hub for the South-East and beyond. Hosting events of this magnitude makes investors and visitors appreciate the enormous potential in Ebonyi, and that will naturally attract more investments.”
Barr. Nwanchor further appreciated the State’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice for their innovative leadership and capacity-building initiatives, stressing that Ebonyi was gradually gaining national recognition as a centre for legal and socio-economic advancement.
