The Ohaukwu Youth General Assembly (OYGA) has reiterated its unwavering commitment to peace, unity, and progress in Ohaukwu Local Government Area, while dismissing reports alleging its disbandment by the council chairman.
In a statement personally signed by its President, Comr. Onah Emmanuel, and made available to journalists, the youth body described the claims as “unfounded and lacking any legal basis,” urging members and the public to disregard such misinformation.
“The Ohaukwu Youth General Assembly remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote the development and well-being of our people. We have not engaged in any activities that would warrant dissolution, and our independence and impartiality remain intact,” Emmanuel stated.
He appealed to members at home and abroad to remain steadfast, focused, and refrain from negative rhetoric, stressing that the Assembly’s doors remain open to all in the spirit of inclusivity and constructive engagement.
While condemning actions by individuals allegedly spreading misleading information and engaging in divisive activities, the OYGA president urged them to desist and instead contribute to strengthening unity and development.
“I assure you that the leadership of this Assembly will always uphold your mandate with diligence and integrity. Together, we can overcome obstacles and achieve our common goals,” he emphasized.
The youth leader concluded with a call for sustained prayers and cooperation from stakeholders, affirming that OYGA’s vision of peace, unity, and progress in Ohaukwu remains unshaken.
