The Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), South-East Zone, Prince Ify Chijioke, has declared that Chief Ali Odefa is no longer a member of the PDP, insisting that multiple court verdicts have affirmed his suspension and subsequent expulsion from the party.
In a strongly worded statement on Thursday, Chijioke said Odefa’s Ward Executives in Oguduokwor, Oshiri, Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, had first suspended and later expelled him for anti-party activities—a decision later upheld by the courts.
“On February 26, 2025, the Federal High Court in Abakaliki affirmed the expulsion of Chief Ali Odefa from the PDP. Not just suspension, expulsion; total removal. Till date, he has neither appealed the judgment nor secured any reversal. The time for appeal has even expired,” Chijioke said.
The aide accused Odefa of “playing PDP by day and sneaking around with APC by night,” noting that the embattled politician had allegedly hosted an APC meeting in his country home in Oshiri despite parading himself as PDP South-East Vice Chairman.
He warned party members and stakeholders against recognizing or associating with Odefa in any PDP capacity, describing him as an “imposter and a disgrace to the party’s constitution.”
Citing precedents involving former PDP National Chairmen, Uche Secondus and Senator Iyorchia Ayu, who both lost their positions after ward suspensions upheld by courts, Chijioke insisted Odefa’s case was even weaker since he never challenged his expulsion in court.
“Anyone still calling Ali Odefa a PDP member is acting at their own peril. He is an expelled member; the courts have spoken, and the PDP Constitution is clear,” he maintained.
