Women of Ezza East Development Centre have declared unflinching support for Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and his wife, Chief Mrs. Mary Maudline Uzoamaka Nwifuru, as the administration’s influence deepens across Ebonyi grassroots ahead of the 2027 political season.
The declaration came during this year’s August Meeting in Ezza East, where the Development Centre Coordinator, Mrs. Vivian Ogbuewu, toured several communities, delivering Governor Nwifuru’s message of inclusive governance and distributing empowerment items to indigent women.
Mrs. Ogbuewu, who led the engagements across Assemblies of God Church Onueke, Echara, Ohaofia, Ikweator Idembia, Ugwuogo, Okoffia and others, hailed the Governor for appointing women into sensitive positions and charged residents to obtain voter cards as a prerequisite to access future empowerment packages.
“The wife of the Governor has touched lives through her BERWO Foundation. Governor Nwifuru is the first Ebonyi leader who doesn’t joke with women’s welfare. The only way to reciprocate this love is by securing your voter’s card and supporting the government come 2027,” she said.
Responding, leaders of women associations including Mrs. Nkiru Nwafor (Ikwuator), Mrs. Magdalene Usulor (Ugwuogo), Mrs. Cordialla Nwafor (Echara), and Mrs. Philomena Alioke openly pledged loyalty to the administration, assuring that Ezza East remains a stronghold for the Governor’s political structure.
One of the area’s political stakeholders, Chief Dominic Nwafor, reinforced the message, urging women to uphold virtue and unity, stressing that “a virtuous woman is not only an asset to her family but to the society and state at large.”
The event, which saw the distribution of wrappers, buckets and cash gifts donated to the women by the coordinator, was described as a clear grassroots mobilization signal, underscoring the ruling camp’s growing confidence as 2027 approaches.
