The people of Enu Nwobasi village, Okposi Okwu, in Anuagata Development Centre, Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, have commended the Coordinator of the Centre, Comrade John Osi, for prioritising grassroots development and touching lives through impactful projects.
Led by their chairman, Chief Theophilus Ogbonnaya-Ugwu, the community paid an appreciation visit to the Development Centre Headquarters at Obodo-Oma Okposi-Okwu to celebrate Osi’s intervention in reconstructing the Ogba Eba Bridge, which links Enu Nwobasi with neighbouring villages.
Ogbonnaya-Ugwu noted that the bridge had been a death trap for years until the Coordinator’s timely intervention restored safety and accessibility.
Other community leaders, including Palace cabinet member Chief James Okorie-Okike, youth president Comrade Obinnaya Chukwu-Akpa, and secretary Okike Nwachukwu-Aja, applauded Osi’s leadership style, describing him as vibrant, people-oriented, and committed to grassroots progress. They urged him to sustain the momentum.
Responding, Comrade Osi reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots empowerment and humanitarian service as the true essence of leadership.
He revealed that, beyond the Ogba Eba Bridge, his administration has facilitated the construction of six bridges and culverts across the Centre, sponsored school fees for indigent students, offset hospital bills for the less privileged, and supported women and youths with empowerment programmes.
“These efforts are in line with the People’s Charter of Needs mantra of our Governor, Chief Francis Nwifuru, who appointed me to drive good governance at the grassroots.
"I am grateful for his support, and this visit from my people will only spur me to do more,” Osi said.
The Coordinator further commended Governor Nwifuru for empowering Development Centres across the state, stressing that such support has made meaningful projects possible in rural communities.
