The Ebonyi State Government led by Governor Francis Nwifuru has fixed Monday, September 8, 2025, as the official resumption date for all public and private schools in the state, warning that strict compliance will be enforced.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Education and signed by its Information and Public Relations Officer, Mr. Emmanuel Obinna Igwe, on behalf of the Honourable Commissioner for Education, the government made it clear that no school is permitted to alter the directive.
The Ministry stressed that the date marks the formal commencement of the 2025/2026 academic session, and urged proprietors, administrators, parents and guardians to take note and prepare accordingly.
The statement further cautioned that any school found flouting the directive will face appropriate sanctions from the Ministry, including possible suspension of operations.
