The National Rescue Movement (NRM) in Ebonyi State has called on Nigerians, particularly the youth and first-time voters, to seize the opportunity of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during a press briefing in Abakaliki, the State Chairman of NRM, Stanley Ogodo said early preparation is key to meaningful change in Nigeria’s democratic journey.
He emphasized that registering to vote remains a civic responsibility and a powerful tool for rescuing the nation from failed leadership.
“The power to rescue our nation lies in our collective hands. We cannot sit back and hope for transformation if we do not participate in the process that determines who leads us,” Ogodo declared.
The NRM, he said, will embark on a statewide voter awareness campaign covering communities, campuses, markets, rural areas, religious institutions, and civil society groups to mobilize citizens. According to him, no eligible voter should be left behind in the rescue mission.
He urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to improve accessibility, enhance network stability, and address challenges experienced in underserved areas to ensure inclusivity.
Reassuring Nigerians of NRM’s commitment, Ogodo maintained that the party is “not of failed promises but a movement of action, accountability, and the people.”
“Change will not come unless we make it happen. Register to vote, mobilize your friends and families, and get your PVC. We have the numbers—let us use it," he added.
The party also appealed to the media to amplify its message of voter awareness and to sustain civic engagement ahead of the polls.
