The Ebonyi State Secretary of the Labour Party and the Peter Obi Campaign Council, Barrister Luke Chibueze Adonwe, has formally resigned from active partisan politics to devote his time and energy to humanitarian service.

I cann a public statement issued in Abakaliki on Wednesday, Adonwe, who is also the Founder and Director-General of the Luke Chibueze Adonwe Human Foundation (LACH Foundation), said his resignation took effect from October 1, 2025, adding that it was conveyed through his Ward Chairman and submitted to the State Chairman of the Labour Party, Godwin Jioke.
The respected cleric and philanthropist noted that his decision stemmed from a deep conviction to focus wholly on non-partisan humanitarian engagements and to maintain neutrality, transparency, and integrity in his relationship with people across all political divides.
“My decision to withdraw from partisan politics is driven by a strong conviction to focus fully on humanitarian service through my pet project, the LACH Foundation,” Adonwe stated.
“This step is also aimed at ensuring total neutrality, transparency, and integrity in my dealings with people across all divides," he added.
He clarified, however, that his decision does not affect his constitutional right to vote, pledging to continue to exercise his franchise responsibly as a patriotic Nigerian.
Adonwe, who has held several political positions including State Chairman of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), State Chairman of the Labour Party, and State Secretary of both the Labour Party and the Peter Obi Campaign Council, said his future focus will be on nation-building and social impact through humanitarian initiatives.
He further urged Nigerians, especially members and volunteers of the LACH Foundation, to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) and prepare for the Foundation’s upcoming campaign tagged “Operation Show Your PVC.”
“Your vote is your power,” he declared. “Let us work together for a better Nigeria built on justice, service, and compassion.”
Adonwe reaffirmed his commitment to collaborating with well-meaning individuals and organizations that share the vision of advancing social justice and human development in Nigeria.
