The Senior Special Assistant to the Ebonyi State Governor on Transport, Chief Fredrick Nwogbaga, has called on Nigerian youths to prioritize education as a crucial pathway to leadership, personal development, and national progress.
Chief Nwogbaga made the call on Friday during the traditional marriage ceremony of the state governor’s step-sister - former Miss Rebecca Nwifuru and her hearthrob, Engr Silas Umahi, held in Oferekpe Agbaja, Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
In his remarks, the aide emphasized that education remains the strongest tool for empowerment, advancement, and social transformation, especially for young people aspiring to leadership positions.
“My advice is that people should go to school. It is only when you are enlightened that you begin to understand what is right.
"The current governor is where he is today not just because of connections, but because of his education and the character he exhibited when he met his mentor," he said.
Citing the example of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, Chief Nwogbaga said the governor’s rise in politics was significantly influenced by his educational background, which positioned him for leadership opportunities early in his career.
The traditional event attracted high-ranking political figures, traditional rulers, and dignitaries from across the state and beyond.
It also showcased the deepening bond between political leadership and cultural heritage in Ebonyi State.
Chief Nwogbaga further encouraged the youth to emulate Governor Nwifuru’s values of humility, service, and continuous learning.
“We must all strive to live like water — humble, adaptable, and clear in purpose.
"When you live rightly and serve faithfully, the rewards will surely come,” he added.
He also lauded the leadership of Governor Nwifuru, describing him as a symbol of unity and continuity, whose influence has grown beyond his immediate community.
“The Onwa as a Chieftaincy title is no longer a local title. It has become a global representation of cultural pride and integrity. We believe in his reign, and we are raising our children to follow his footsteps," he further stated.
