The Provost of the Ebonyi State College of Health Science and Technology, Ngbo, Princess Chetachi Chibueze Jerry Usulor, has called on all academic and non-academic staff of the institution to prioritize voter registration in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
Usulor who recently assumed office as the first female provost of the college, made the appeal during a staff meeting, where she addressed journalists on the sidelines of the event.
She emphasized the need for active civic participation, noting that every eligible member of staff must ensure they possess valid voter cards ahead of the polls.
She commended the strides recorded in the state’s education sector under the administration of Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, describing his leadership as transformative.
“Governor Nwifuru has genuinely transformed the education sector in our state.
"His administration has laid a solid foundation, and it is essential for us to uphold and sustain these positive changes by ensuring he is re-elected in 2027," she said.
The provost cited several infrastructural projects initiated by the state government, saying they have significantly impacted both the education sector and the wider community.
She said it was the responsibility of the educated populace to safeguard and advance these gains.
“Obtaining your voter cards is not just a civic duty; it is also a commitment to preserving the progress we’ve made in education and beyond.
"Let us stand together to support a leader who has demonstrated dedication and vision for our state’s future," she said.
