The Anyi Ga Emeya Movement, a political organization that championed the election of High Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii (Anyichuks) under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has urged the public to disregard reports of the suspension of key PDP leaders in Ebonyi State, describing it as false and illegal.
In a statement signed by the group’s Director of Media and Publicity, Moses Idika, the organization said there is no functional State Working Committee (SWC) of the PDP in Ebonyi since the congress that produced it was nullified by the Federal High Court, Abakaliki in suit no: FHC/AI/CS/183/2024 on November 11, 2024.
Idika added that the Federal High Court, Abuja, in suit no: FHC/ABJ/CS/2120/2025 delivered on October 31, 2025, further affirmed the nullification of the purported congress and the expulsion of Chief Ali Odefa, the former Southeast Zonal Chairman of the PDP.
“The PDP Ebonyi State currently has no State Working Committee and therefore cannot take any decision on behalf of the party,” the statement read.
“We call on the public to ignore any suspension purportedly issued by faceless individuals who have no standing in the PDP,” Idika added.
The statement was a reaction to an earlier announcement allegedly signed by one Nwafor Richard Nwali, who claimed to be the PDP’s Publicity Secretary in Ebonyi, suspending six prominent members, including the 2023 governorship candidate Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, his running mate Senator Paulinus Igwe Nwagu, Rt. Hon. Solomon Onwe, Chief Mudi Erhenede, Mr. Chidiebere Egwu, and Mr. Moses Idika himself.
However, Chief Mudi Erhenede, the immediate past PDP Legal Adviser in the state, dismissed the suspension as “null and void and a contempt of court.”
“They don’t even exist in law, talk more of carrying out any act. The judgment of the Federal High Court is very clear — it nullified their so-called congress,” Erhenede said.
“I have instructed my office to initiate contempt proceedings against them. What they have done amounts to disobedience of a valid court order,” he added, describing the group’s actions as “madness.”
Meanwhile, the Anyi Ga Emeya Movement reaffirmed that the PDP in Ebonyi is working with the National Working Committee (NWC) to fix a new and legitimate date for the state congresses in compliance with the court’s ruling.
