President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of five new Permanent Secretaries to fill existing vacancies in the Federal Civil Service.
The announcement was made on Monday by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack, in a statement issued in Abuja.
The new appointees included Ibrahim Ozi – Federal Capital Territory,
Ezemama Chidiebere – Imo State, Garba Usman – North Central, Mohammed Ishiyaku – North-East and Ukaire Chigbowu – South-East.
According to Walson-Jack, the appointments followed a rigorous, merit-based selection process, in line with President Tinubu’s commitment to promoting professionalism, transparency, and excellence in the Civil Service.
She urged the new Permanent Secretaries to demonstrate dedication, competence, and integrity in executing their responsibilities, emphasizing their key role in improving governance and service delivery across ministries, departments, and agencies.
“The new Permanent Secretaries are expected to leverage their experience and expertise to advance the government’s reform agenda and maintain the highest standards of performance in the public sector,” Walson-Jack said.
She also commended President Tinubu for his continued support of merit-based appointments, noting that the new appointments reflect the administration’s aim to build a results-driven and people-centered bureaucracy.
The HCSF reiterated the Federal Civil Service’s commitment to efficiency, accountability, and innovation, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
