Chief Stephen Uchenna Igwe, Founder of Stephen and Judith Igwe International Scholarship Foundation .and Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters in Ebonyi State.
The Stephen and Judith Igwe International Scholarship Foundation has opened applications for its scholarship programme targeted at undergraduate students of Ebonyi State origin.
The development followed the inauguration of the Governing Board of the foundation by the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Chief Stephen Uchenna Igwe, alongside his wife, Chief Mrs. Judith Stephen Igwe.
The initiative aligns with the human capital development agenda of the Ebonyi State Government under the leadership of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.
According to the foundation, the scholarship is open to 200-level undergraduate students from Abakaliki, Ebonyi, Izzi and Ohaukwu Local Government Areas of the state.
Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.0 and must be studying Medicine, Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing, Law, Engineering, Pharmacy or Accountancy.
Shortlisted applicants will be screened through an interview scheduled for Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at the Pastoral Centre, Mile 50, Abakaliki.
The interview is expected to begin at 10:00 a.m.
Applicants are required to present their sessional academic results and a Local Government Area certificate of origin at the interview.
Applications are to be submitted via a Google Form link circulated on official Local Government Area platforms or made available by the foundation.
The Governing Board of the foundation is chaired by Rev. Fr. Dr. Peter Omogo, with Dr. Stephen C. Ikporo, PhD, serving as Secretary. Further information can be obtained through the foundation’s designated contact numbers.
The foundation stated that the scholarship scheme is designed to support academic excellence and expand access to higher education for students from Ebonyi State.
