The Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ebonyi State Chapter, Comrade Douglas Ochishi, has commended Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for approving a N150,000 Christmas bonus for civil servants in the state, describing the gesture as a clear demonstration of compassionate and people-oriented leadership.

In a statement issued on behalf of the council, Comrade Ochishi noted that the governor’s decision to prioritize the welfare of workers, especially amid prevailing economic challenges, reflects his unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of Ebonyi citizens.
He described Governor Nwifuru as a leader who consistently places the interests of the people above all else.
According to him, the Christmas bonus will not only ease the financial burden on civil servants during the festive season but also boost morale and productivity within the state workforce.
He added that such thoughtful interventions further strengthen the trust between the government and the people.
The NYCN Chairman expressed profound gratitude to the governor on behalf of youths across the state, offering prayers for his good health, wisdom, and continued success in steering the affairs of Ebonyi State. He emphasized that the governor’s kind-hearted leadership style will leave a lasting legacy in the hearts of Ebonyi people.
Ochishi also applauded Governor Nwifuru’s decision to allow stakeholders across the various local government areas to freely determine their chairmanship candidates ahead of the forthcoming local government elections, noting that the move reinforces democratic values, inclusiveness, and good governance.
He reaffirmed the council’s support for the administration and urged civil servants and residents of the state to continue supporting policies and programs aimed at promoting development, unity, and prosperity in Ebonyi State.
