The Royal Elite Club, Abakaliki, has commended an Ebonyi-born businessman and philanthropist, High Chief Chikaodili Ojimba, for his sustained commitment to human capital development and grassroots empowerment across the state.
The commendation followed a courtesy visit by members of the club to the residence of High Chief Ojimba, who serves as the patron of the association, ahead of its end-of-year celebration popularly known as the Awaindia Party.
Speaking during the visit, the President of Royal Light Club, Engr. Chukwuma Oyibe, said the delegation was warmly received by their patron, describing the engagement as encouraging and inspiring.
“What happened today is that we paid a visit to our patron, High Chief Ojimba, in his residence. He welcomed us warmly and appreciated us, both financially and morally. He reaffirmed his commitment to stand by this organization now and in the future to ensure its steady progress,” Oyibe said.
According to him, although the patron was unable to physically attend the club’s end-of-year celebration holding at Okekwe Guest House, Onuebonyi, his support and goodwill remained evident.
Oyibe noted that the club had enjoyed a peaceful and progressive year without major setbacks, attributing this to unity, discipline, and divine grace.
He added that the celebration attracted members from within and outside Nigeria, underscoring the strength and cohesion of the organization.
Among those who travelled from abroad to attend the event were medical doctors, engineers, and other professionals based in Saudi Arabia, Russia, Lagos, and other locations.
“We are proud that our members are professionals—engineers, medical doctors, lecturers, and officers serving in various capacities. This celebration brought many of them home, showing the bond we share,” he added.
The club president used the occasion to charge members to emulate the entrepreneurial spirit and self-reliance exemplified by their patron.
“Our patron is not a politician; he is a businessman who worked hard to succeed. That is the mindset we want our members to embrace—self-reliance, integrity, and excellence in whatever field they find themselves,” Oyibe said.
Responding, High Chief Chikaodili Ojimba expressed gratitude for the honour bestowed on him, describing the visit as a reflection of love and unity.
“I am glad for this honour. As you celebrate Christmas and the New Year, extend this love to your families and neighbours. Celebration at this season is about love, peace, and unity. These are the foundations of development, prosperity, and progress,” he said.
He commended the club for choosing to begin its end-of-year activities with a visit, urging members to sustain harmony among themselves.
In a vote of thanks, the Legal Adviser of the club, Barr. Emmanuel Eze, euolgized Ojimba’s generosity and humanitarian spirit, describing it as a consistent lifestyle rather than a one-off gesture.
“You empower people, groups, and individuals daily, especially the downtrodden. This is why we found you worthy to be our patron. Your strength in business and your passion for building human capacity stand out,” Eze stated.
He added that the club’s members were inspired by Ojimba’s example and promised to uphold values that would make him proud, while encouraging him to sustain his philanthropic efforts.
The visit marked a significant highlight of the Royal Elite Club’s end-of-year activities, reinforcing its commitment to unity, professional excellence, and community development.
