The Ebonyi State Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Barrister Ekuma Emmanuel, has assured Nigerians that the future of the party remains bright despite the challenges currently confronting it.
Ekuma gave the assurance on Tuesday in his Christmas message titled “Message of Hope, Courage, and Progress of the PDP Family in Ebonyi State,” where he urged party members to use the Christmas season to reflect on the party’s journey and chart a new course ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He noted that the Christmas season provides an opportunity for Christians to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, whose life and sacrifice symbolize hope, renewal, forgiveness and unity among humanity.
According to him, the Yuletide period is significant as it brings people together irrespective of tribe, race or political affiliation, encouraging forgiveness, love and collective responsibility toward building a better society.
Ekuma called on members of the PDP in Ebonyi State to take advantage of the season to reassess the past, strengthen the present and make progressive projections for the future of the party.
He expressed confidence that the PDP would overcome all internal and external challenges, stressing that the party remains strong, united and committed to the principles of justice, equity and fairness.
The caretaker chairman further appealed to party leaders and faithful to embrace forgiveness, peace and unity, noting that collective effort is key to rebuilding the party’s structure and capacity at all levels in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
He emphasized the need for renewed energy, fresh ideas and collaborative initiatives to reposition the PDP and restore its lost glory in Ebonyi State.
Ekuma also commended key party leaders for their support and leadership, including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, whom he described as the party’s national leader; Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the South-East leader; and Hon. Goodluck Chidiebere Egwu, the National Vice Chairman, South-East zone.
He wished PDP members and Nigerians a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year, expressing optimism that the party would emerge stronger and more united in the coming years.
