Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze has expressed profound gratitude to former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, former Rivers Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, his family, associates, pastors, friends and well-wishers for what he described as an unprecedented and uniquely memorable celebration of his 68th birthday.
In a statement issued to mark the occasion, Chief Eze particularly acknowledged Atiku Abubakar, whom he fondly described as his political father, for a special birthday message that not only celebrated his life but also exposed “many divergent parts” of his personality unknown to most people.
According to him, the message, which was widely circulated across major social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), recorded over 300 reposts—an experience he noted was unmatched in all his previous birthday celebrations.
“Your Excellency Sir, apart from exposing to the world many aspects of my life unknown to most people, your message went viral across social media platforms. I have never experienced this level of publicity and love in my past birthday events. God bless you, Sir. I truly appreciate this special love,” Eze stated.
Chief Eze also expressed deep appreciation to his longtime associate and principal, Former Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, and his family for their thoughtful birthday gift, describing it as another demonstration of genuine brotherhood and goodwill.
He further thanked his political associates, political opponents, friends, pastors, brethren, as well as his wife and children for the overwhelming show of love, prayers and gifts that marked the celebration.
“The gifts and goodwill from my political associates, opponents, friends, pastors, my wife, children and brethren cannot be downplayed.
"I appreciate you all. God will surely bless you for me, and celebration will not cease in your lives and families, no matter the odds,” he prayed.
The birthday celebration was further amplified by glowing tributes from notable Nigerians who praised Chief Eze’s courage, democratic values, intellectual depth and enduring commitment to good governance.
In his special message, Atiku Abubakar described Chief Eze as “a restless democrat” and “a man of many parts” who has distinguished himself as a journalist, prolific writer, media consultant, philanthropist, sports development enthusiast, and advocate of responsible and responsive leadership.
“On behalf of my family, I join Chief Eze, his family and friends in celebrating his 68th birthday. May the Almighty God grant him more years in good health and service,” Atiku said.
Reacting to the outpouring of goodwill, Chief Eze concluded by expressing deep humility and appreciation, thanking God and everyone who contributed to making the milestone birthday a truly historic one.
“I have nothing else to add but to say that I am humbled and deeply appreciative of this wonderful love. Thank you all, and may celebration never depart from your homes,” he added.
