The Wife of the Ebonyi State Governor, Chief (Mrs.) Mary Maudline Uzoamaka Nwifuru, on Sunday graced the child dedication ceremony of the Ikwo Local Government Area Chairmanship Aspirant, Comrade Chidi Henry Nwode, held in Abakaliki.
The event, which attracted top government functionaries, members of the State Executive Council, and various women support groups, was marked by prayers, goodwill messages, and thanksgiving to God for the safe delivery of the baby.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Ebonyi First Lady expressed profound gratitude to God for the gift of the child and the successful delivery, praying that the child would grow in wisdom, strength, and grace to become a responsible and successful member of society.
Mrs. Nwifuru commended Comrade Nwode and his wife for upholding strong family values, describing their union as peaceful and exemplary.
She noted that the couple had made the right decision in marriage and encouraged young families to always place God at the center of their homes.
She also conveyed her husband’s appreciation to the family and thanked Ebonyi women for their continuous support, solidarity, and prayers, assuring them of God’s protection at all times.
The First Lady reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to positively impacting the lives of women and families across the state through meaningful empowerment and welfare-driven initiatives.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion and State Commissioner for Project Monitoring, Engr. Felix Igboke, advised the parents to raise the child in the fear of God and prayed for divine guidance, protection, and blessings upon the family.
The ceremony reached its climax with the official naming of the child Master Wesley Ugomsinachi Chidi Nwode, in honor of his grandfather, Chief Nwode.
