In a congratulatory message issued on Thursday, Orji described Anyim as “a leader of profound statesmanship” whose contributions to Nigeria’s democratic development and governance remain remarkable.
He thanked God Almighty for His faithfulness in the life of the former Senate President, noting that the accomplishments recorded in his public service reflect divine grace and dedication to national service.
Orji recalled that during his tenure as Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the First Assembly of the Third Republic, Anyim demonstrated focus, firmness and resolve in presiding over the affairs of the upper legislative chamber, thereby strengthening democratic stability and continuity in the country.
He further commended Anyim’s service as Secretary to the Government of the Federation, where he coordinated the implementation of government policies and programmes, describing his performance as impactful and distinguished.
According to Orji, Anyim’s sense of community, humility, humanity and devotion to nation-building are exemplary virtues that have continued to define his public life.
“We are super proud of him and glad to identify with him on this auspicious celebration,” Orji stated, praying for continued longevity, sound health and greater accomplishments for the elder statesman.
He reiterated the best wishes of his family and congratulated Anyim on attaining the milestone age of 65.
