Prince Maurice Mbam, Chairman of the Abakaliki FC Supporters Club, described Anista’s appointment as a turning point for the team, saying the coach has brought “new life” into the club and reignited football activities in Ebonyi State.
“The assessment of the new Head Coach is wonderful. He has brought new life into the team and football activities in Ebonyi State,” Mbam said.
Strong Training, Stronger Performance
Mbam highlighted the coach’s hands-on approach at training sessions, noting that his active engagement has improved player discipline, coordination, and overall performance on the field.
“If you go to the field now, you will see the coach selecting and correcting players the right way, and that is why we are now getting the best in all our outings,” he said.
He also described Anista’s technical direction as a major factor in the team’s recent progress, saying supporters are now more confident and comfortable with the club’s direction.
Supporters are now hopeful that Abakaliki FC can maintain the current momentum and finish among the top four teams by the end of the season. Their ultimate goal is to secure promotion to the Nigeria Premier League, a dream they believe is now achievable under Anista’s leadership.
“The team is now getting the best in all our outings,” Mbam added. “We believe we can finish in the top four and gain promotion.”
Anista was promoted to the head coach role following the suspension of former coach Ifeanyi Onyedika, who was relieved of his duties after a home draw in the team’s second match of the season.
Initially appointed as acting head coach, Anista’s position was later confirmed by the state governor during the Christmas and New Year homage, solidifying his role at the helm of the club.
With supporters already praising his impact, the focus now shifts to the league campaign, where fans are eager to see the team translate the positive energy into consistent results and a promotion push.
