The Amaechi True Believers (ATB), a grassroots political support group, has intensified nationwide mobilisation efforts in support of former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group’s national leadership, led by its president, yesterday met with Amaechi at his Abuja residence alongside the 36 state chairmen and other national officers to brief him on its activities and expanding political structure across the country.
Speaking during the visit, the ATB leadership said the organisation had made significant progress in grassroots mobilisation, particularly in the registration of party members at ward and local government levels nationwide.
Amaechi, in his remarks, commended the group for what he described as its “tremendous work” in strengthening political participation and building a nationwide support base.
He also reaffirmed his support for the movement and encouraged sustained efforts toward grassroots engagement.
The former Rivers State governor charged the group to deliver at least 100,000 registered party members ahead of the party’s primary elections, a move seen as part of broader efforts to consolidate support within the party structure.
Meanwhile, the Ebonyi State Coordinator of ATB, Engr. Osita Ugorjo, said the group had resolved to suspend all inauguration activities across states until after the party’s congresses and national convention.
According to him, the decision is aimed at focusing fully on membership mobilisation and registration in line with the directive given during the meeting.
He urged local government chairmen to intensify efforts to recruit and document members, stressing the need for verifiable evidence of registration as the group moves into the next phase of its political activities.
The meeting is part of ongoing consultations and mobilisation efforts by the group as political alignments gradually build up ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
