Evangelist Nnenna Omerukwe of the Ark of Testimony Church has projected a transformative vision for Ebonyi State, positioning it as a potential model for national development and spiritual revival.
Addressing pressmen on Tuesday in Abakaliki, the cleric emphasized that the state’s future prosperity, security, and socio-economic advancement are intrinsically linked to adherence to divine guidance.
Describing herself as both a “civil servant” and a minister of the Gospel, Omerukwe revealed that her prophetic insight emerged during a period of sustained prayer and fasting within her ministry.
She said God had highlighted the pressing security challenges facing Ebonyi State, noting that these issues cannot be resolved by human effort alone.
“It is not merely about deploying security personnel; it is a spiritual assignment that requires obedience to divine instruction,” she explained.
Omerukwe specifically commended Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for his achievements in office especially in education sector, but urged him to implement reforms she described as crucial for lasting peace.
Chief among these, she said, is the promotion of stagnated civil servants, particularly those holding WAEC, NECO, and GCE qualifications.
“No sector of the economy should be left untouched. By empowering civil servants whose progression has been delayed, peace, productivity, and social harmony will be restored across the state,” she stated.
Framing Ebonyi State as God’s “vineyard,” Omerukwe highlighted the spiritual significance of the region.
Drawing from the biblical account in John 2, where Jesus transformed water into wine, she underscored that divine solutions often surpass human reasoning.
“The foolishness of God is wiser than the wisdom of men,” she noted, stressing that compliance with God’s instructions is more critical than professional credentials or human expertise.
Beyond spiritual counsel, Omerukwe outlined a broad socio-economic agenda.
She called for youth engagement through agriculture, fish farming, and dairy cattle ranching, envisioning the state as both a hub of productivity and a tourist destination.
“God will supply this state beyond human measure,” she declared, asserting that adherence to divine guidance would attract foreign investors organically, fostering economic growth without reliance on lobbying.
Politically, she reflected on past mismanagement, noting that previous administrations’ failure to heed prophetic counsel had limited the state’s influence at the federal level.
Omerukwe hinted that compliance with spiritual directives could secure national prominence for Ebonyi, including the potential rise of an indigene to the presidency.
“Everything is subject to divine will. If we are willing and obedient, God can elevate the state and its people, including a citizen of this State, to emerge as Nigeria’s president,” she said.
The cleric also warned that continued disobedience could exacerbate unrest, fuel community clashes, and invite natural calamities.
Conversely, compliance with divine instructions promises social stability, economic revival, and strategic advantage at both state and national levels.
She emphasized that the welfare of the people not political parties or personal ambition remains the ultimate objective.
Omerukwe described the civil service as central to this transformation, noting that the plight of stagnated officers has “reached heaven” and that addressing their needs would catalyze broader societal renewal.
She stressed that the Office of the Head of Service, guided by gubernatorial directives, could implement these reforms effectively.
In a broader spiritual and national context, Omerukwe declared that Ebonyi State is “second Israel in the world” and a potential template for governance, development, and spiritual revival in Nigeria.
She urged the state government, civil servants, and the public to embrace divine guidance, warning that rationalizing God’s will with human wisdom would undermine progress.
“Ebonyi State is positioned to lead the nation spiritually, politically, and economically. If our leaders and citizens obey God, the state will experience unparalleled growth, attract foreign investment, and achieve peace and prosperity that will serve as a model for other regions of the federation,” she maintained.
Our correspondent reports that the woman of God has, on several occasions, sought to deliver her messages directly to state political actors, efforts often perceived as unconventional or even eccentric.
She attended government functions not to promote herself but to convey God’s message, frequently frustrated by protocol restrictions.
She said the Governor needs this guidance to avoid repeating the mistakes of his predecessors, emphasizing that her message is vital for effective implementation.
