A former member of the House of Representatives, Lazarus Ogbee, has officially declared his intention to contest the Ebonyi Central Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ogbee made the declaration while addressing stakeholders and supporters across the senatorial zone, stating that his decision was driven by a deep passion for service and commitment to the development of the area.
“With a deep sense of responsibility and unwavering commitment to the progress of our people, I hereby formally declare my intention to contest for the position of Senator representing Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone on the platform of the APC,” he said.
The former lawmaker emphasized that his years in public service have prepared him for the task ahead.
He noted that he has previously served as a Development Centre coordinator, two-term local government chairman, member of the House of Representatives, and commissioner.
According to him, these roles have given him a strong grasp of governance, grassroots development, and legislative duties, which he intends to deploy in advancing the interests of Ebonyi Central at the National Assembly.
Ogbee further pledged to attract meaningful development projects, amplify the voice of the zone at the national level, and ensure effective representation if elected.
“I am committed to leveraging my experience to deliver tangible results for every community in Ebonyi Central,” he added.
He also called on party faithful, stakeholders, and residents of the senatorial district to support his ambition, stressing the need for unity and collective effort in building a more prosperous and inclusive zone.
His declaration is expected to intensify political activities in Ebonyi Central as aspirants begin to position themselves ahead of the 2027 elections.
